When I went to bed yesterday, I thought that I was going to be able to catch up on a lot of sleep and stay in bed allllll weekend (except I have that hope every weekend, and to date, it still hasn’t happened yet). There was one HUGE thunderstorm last night, and while I usually love a good thunderstorm, this one kept me wide awake.
Because I was already awake early this morning, I decided to head out to the local farmer’s market. I got there just as the vendors were finishing setting up, and got first pick of the day. My staples that I make sure to stock up on every week:
Portabella Mushrooms – these are SO delicious. My family likes to soak them in a vinaigrette dressing and then put them on a grill. Yum!
Corn – the bi-colors are my favorite. This time of year they are so sweet.
I think next week I might go back and buy some radishes. I have no idea what to do with them now, but I’m sure that I can find something by next Saturday! If anyone has any recipes let me know! I’ve been trying to eat a lot fresher lately, and need all the help I can get!
Next stop: The gym
Planet Fitness just opened up about a month ago, and conveniently, it happens to be about 2 miles from my house. No excuses now, huh. I stopped by after the farmers market, prayed that my produce would survive, and finally made it in to the gym. Its been a couple weeks since I’ve been able to get a workout in. It felt good getting back into a workout routine, so now that Planet Fitness is even closer than my old gym, I’ll be able to get there more often!
All in all, it was a pretty productive Saturday. I’m spending the rest of my day doing homework, and catching up on some Netflix shows. If anyone has any recommendations for me, let me know! Maybe I can catch up on my sleep tomorrow (but probably not).
